Careers Events at Granville Academy (Gatsby benchmarks 5, 7)

We held our popular annual careers fair on Thursday 20th October 2022 and will hold our next one in October 2023. . This year, we had in attendance local colleges and 6th forms, in addition to employers from a number of industries. It is a great opportunity for students to speak to local colleges, Higher Education providers, as well as local and national organisations.  If you work for an organisation, and would be interested in prompting the industry you work in at one of careers fairs, please email Chris Lambeth, Careers Lead - clambeth.granville@deferrerstrust.com 

In 2023 we linked with DHL, based at East Midlands Airport by our Local Enterprise Partnership, D2N2. Since our partnership began, our students have had assembly talks from DHL in both National Careers and National Apprenticeships weeks. We have also attended an industry "Insights" day at their hub, where Year 9 students took part in employer led activities. 

Through D2N2, we have been allocated an Enterprise Adviser, Holly Davies, from STEM Venturi (https://www.stemventuri.org).  Our Enterprise Adviser has supported us with an engaging talk to students during National Careers Week, and is also assisting us with providing industry contacts when needed, and also assisting us with our careers education programme at Granville Academy.  

We work with a number of employers who have given our students careers talks during National Careers Week.  A selection are below, with new employers being added each year, with many also supporting our annual Careers Fair in October:
